Islam is the monotheistic religion of Muslims founded in Arabia in the 7th century and based on the teachings of Prophet Muhammad as laid down in the holy Koran. The word Allah stands for God in Arabic. People who follow Islam are called Muslims.They believe that there is only one God. They believe that Allah showed his faith to humanity through various prophets at various times but the complete revelation was given to the Prophet Muhammad in the 7th century BC.The Muslims pray in Mosque and stick to a strict regimen.Their holy place is Mecca and their pilgrim to Mecca is called Haj. The Muslims visit Mecca and Medina for pilgrimage.
Muslims are found all over the world. Islam is the second most popular faith in the world with more than a billion followers. Muslim communities are found in Pakistan,Afganistan.India,Iran,Iraq and other countries of the middle east. It continues to grow in every part of the world.the Muslims believe that it is holy to spread Allah’s preaching and Islam all over the planet . |
