A Jewish is a person belonging to the worldwide group claiming descent from Jacob (or converted to it) and connected by religious or cultural ties. They are members of a religious group who originated in ancient Israel and the Middle East.According to some information from the Christian Churches,it is said that the first Jew was Abraham. The Jew has been coined from the word Judaite or Judean.jewish people are said to be descendants of the tribe of Judah. The Bible uses the word Judahite in three different context viz one who is racially related to the tribe of Judah, one who is the citizen of the southern nation of Juda and third Juda and third.
A group of Maskilim rationalized that the hostility resulted from European society on the ignorance of Judaism’s history and its contribution to European culture let to the spread of Jewism. In order to present the wisdom of Jewish creativity to the non-Jewish world, these Jews, mostly university students, founded a group dedicated to raising Jewish scholarship from darkness to science, and christened it as the Society for Culture and Science among the Jews in 1819. Leopold Zunz was a founder and leader of this Society.

Zunz was a Jewish orphan who received a traditional religious education and taught himself secular subjects by reading German books.Facing hardships he managed to attend the University of Berlin where he was exposed to German ideas of history and science. He ultimately received a doctorate at the University of Halle and thereafter made his living as a rabbi and Sunday School teacher for various Reform congregations. Zunz lead the Society in the attempt to master all the material incorporated into Jewish literature, to arrange it according to its historical development, and to relate it to world literature. Zunz finally succeeded in realizing a major goal of the organization by cataloguing the lot of Jewish literature. In his most famous work, Contributions to History and Literature, Zunz combed Jewish history to demonstrate that the Talmud, medieval poetry, homiletics, philosophy, and folklore all belonged to the realm of literature as they were authentic expressions of Jewish national life and thought. With the publication of this work in 1845, Zunz demonstrated that Jewish genius had not exhausted itself with the Bible as Christians had asserted. He revealed the wealth of the Jewish literary tradition.
Ideas of Jewish
Unlike other religions,Judaism is not related to a belief system or a philosophical framework. In Jewish system, belief has not been in the forefront.Jews have been more concerned with halakhah, the Jewish legal tradition governing Jewish practice than makhshavah, the discipline of Jewish thought. It is difficult to speak of a single or official Jewish worldview, philosophy or theology. We must learn to study Jewish theologies and philosophies in its variety and see the different view of the world on Judaism.
